THE
COURSE
NON LINEAR is a full-time, 12 week intensive training course led by well-known creatives across music, art, advertising, publishing, design, games and film. The course was designed by the University of the Arts Creative Computing Institute and the award-winning charity A New Direction.
The course enables Londoners like you aged 19+ to unlock your talents, to incubate ideas, and grow your creative capacity so you can land a role in the creative industries, start your own business or go to university.
Over 12 weeks we will get you in touch with your inner creativity from ideation, storytelling, financing, entrepreneurship, filming, creating podcasts, how to make a killer job application and how to respond to a brief.
You will have masterclasses with industry professionals, technical skills-based workshops, guest lectures, inspirational bite-sized industry talks, fascinating field trips as well as a considerable time working within creative businesses to help them solve the real world creative challenges they face.
AI is etched into the course. We will be teaching you the fundamentals of GenAI systems for creative production, including generative image and video.
As the creative industries become more homogenised under the weight of AI generated content and systems, we want to give you the skills to stand out, to learn how to manipulate and train your own GenAI systems and understand the issues surrounding GenAI within the creative industries.
We want you to master the use of GenAI so that it truly enhances your creativity. To give you a skill set to succeed at being a better creative, to be authentically and more powerfully you.
The creative industries will always require original and imaginative work and thinking that has purpose and adds value. We teach you the skill set to deliver that with the help of GenAI.
The course curriculum is co-designed and codelivered by The University of The Arts Creative Computing Institute and A New Direction.
